The public busses in Holstebro city is likely to run on biogas in the future
The public busses in Holstebro city is likely to run on biogas in the future.
Midttrafik, the company responsible for public transportaiton, has recently approved a plan for the supply of biogas fuelled buses in Holstebro.
The power supply company Vestforsyning has already accepted, and promised to establish a 'gas' station for it, says Arne Lægaard (V), CEO of Vestforsyning and Midttrafik, in an interview with Holstebro Dagblad.
The City Council will probably also be positive about the proposal, which will reduce CO2 emissions within transportation. Moreover, Holstebro is neighbour to the world's largest biogas plant facility which means easy access to bio fuel.
The chairman of the municipality's environment committee, Karsten Filsø (S) is positive towards the idea. - I cannot imagine any considerable opposition towards the proposal. What we're talking about here is a tested and proven technology, which is probably going to cost a little extra. But still it's not near the price if a jet engine, he says with a smile to the newspaper.
